A Liquid Encounter with Our Identity
Born from a simple conversation among beverage colleagues in July 2025, Educa y Bebe has grown into a powerful initiative to celebrate, strengthen, and give back to an industry that has shaped thousands of professionals across Costa Rica and the region. Their debut edition on November 17, 2025 brought together bartenders, importers, educators, and guests in San José in what has become the defining cultural moment for Costa Rican cocktail culture.
What began as a question — “What can we do to give back to this beautiful industry that has given us so much?” — has become a movement. Educa y Bebe arrives at the St. Augustine Cocktail Fest to share that spirit with the international stage: a seminar rooted in community, cultural pride, and the belief that the future of cocktail culture is deeply tied to knowing where we come from.
This session explores Mesoamerican beverage identity — the pride in our roots, the richness of local ingredients, and the living practices of Central American bartenders today. It is an invitation to look south, to find inspiration in ancestral traditions, and to ask a question that every bartender and hospitality professional should be sitting with: what is our identity, and how does it show up in the glass?
“Educa y Bebe is an event made with love, with the intention of celebrating all those who serve with their soul.”
The story of how Educa y Bebe was founded — and what it means to build a community that celebrates bartenders, not just drinks.
An exploration of Central American beverage culture — ancestral roots, indigenous ingredients, and the pride that comes from knowing your liquid heritage.
A call to action for bartenders everywhere: how local ingredients and cultural practices can shape the next chapter of the global cocktail conversation.

The philosophy of Educa y Bebe is simple and powerful: educate by day, celebrate by night. Their first edition in San José featured masterclasses from internationally recognized bars including Zapote Bar and Hanky Panky, tastings from over 15 importers, and a night of industry camaraderie that proved the community is ready for what comes next. Now, they bring that energy to St. Augustine.
A cultural seminar and conversation exploring the identity of Central American beverage culture — designed for bartenders, beverage directors, brand professionals, and anyone passionate about the deeper roots of what we pour. Presented in English with elements celebrating the Spanish-speaking cocktail world.
